Exploring the hidden D-Day history of Dorset.
Join us to enjoy a great day out exploring the hidden history of south Dorset in a vintage military jeep.
Following the stories of two US servicemen based in Dorset our D-Day tour will provide an insight into 'Operation Bolero' and the build up of US military forces as they prepared for war. Starting in the rural heart of Dorset, we follow the military routes from training areas, to marshalling areas, to the ports of embarkation, stopping at places of interest along the way. Utilising our specialist experience and knowledge we ensure that our guests see the best of Dorset's D-Day history.
We also offer a circular jeep tour where we explore our beautiful countryside via the charming rural lanes of Dorset, stopping to admire some of the panoramic views of our ancient historical landscape along the way. After a halfway refreshment stop at an old fashioned village pub we continue our journey through the largely unspoilt countryside of Thomas Hardy's beloved county eventually arriving back at our starting point
Whether you are travelling alone, as a couple or a small family group, we have tours to suit all. You will be accompanied by our guides who are very knowledgeable and enjoy sharing their tales and stories that help bring the history back to life.
Our tour season runs from April to October.
A jeep tour lasts for approximately 6 hours beginning at 10am and finishing at 4pm.
Tours can be altered/adapted for specific needs/interests if required.

Dorset is a rural county in southwest England. Dorset has a varied landscape of chalk downs, steep limestone ridges, and low-lying clay valleys. It is known for the famous Jurassic Coast, a long stretch on the English Channel where the cliffs contain many fossils, and rock formations show millions of years of geological history. The coast features notable landforms such as Lulworth Cove, the Isle of Portland, Chesil Beach and Durdle Door. The towns of Poole, Weymouth and Swanage are also popular for their sandy beaches.
